Big brother to the rescue!
Today I took Amelia to the public health center for her two-month visit and immunizations. Riley was very curious and followed the nurse around asking if he could help. When it was time to get her shots, I held Amelia and Riley sat down in the chair beside us. As soon as she got poked and started screaming, Riley looked at me, scowled at the nurse, and said, "You're hurting Amelia. She doesn't like it!" I explained to him that even though shots hurt, they would help her. It was cool to see him jump to her defense so quickly. :)

We love the snow!

Well, I decided it was time for some pictures and we conveniently took a bunch last night. We had a whole lotta fun playing in and shoveling snow; Riley put up a fuss when we had to come back inside. Alaska rocks! If Adam looks pregnant in the first picture it's because he's got Amelia in the baby sling underneath his coat. :)

#@!**%
I've found myself using the word "flip" lately, though I'm not sure where I picked it up. It's really quite a functional little word and can be used in many different ways. Like, "Where are my flippin' car keys?!" or "Flip! I shouldn't have eaten those last 32 candy corns!" It's my second favorite expletive ("blast" being number one). Anyway, I thought I'd share because it's always good to expand one's vocabulary. :)

Fish for dessert?

So I'm sitting at the table eating some chocolate pudding last night and Riley comes over to "help" me. He takes a spoonful, I ask him if it's tasty stuff, and he responds in the affirmative.
"Do you know what this is called?" I ask.
He's very confident in his reply. "Yes! It's halibut."
Obviously, I got a little chuckle out of it...

Kiddie love

I had to share this picture cuz it makes me laugh. Amelia's got this expression that I'm pretty sure means, "Geez, Mom! Take the picture already before this kid squeezes out my eyeballs!" Yep, priceless.

Halloween mayhem
Well, I think I'm fully recovered from the Halloween activity. I must say, it would be nice to go to an activity that I don't have to plan! :) Riley had a good time trick-or-treating and Amelia had fun sleeping in Dad's arms the whole time. Adam spent the time trying to play matchmaker for a single dad in our ward, and I had a nice conversation with a lady from the Settler's Bay ward. I've talked to her on previous occasions (but still don't know her name) and for the life of me couldn't remember how we'd bumped into each other before. Then it hit me - we've been in the mother's lounge feeding our little ones at the same time for three Sundays in a row. You just never know when and where you'll meet a new friend!
