- I'm not really schizophrenic, I just have an active mind.
- I don't honestly believe the world revolves around me, though I occasionally wish it did, and that people would bring me donuts because of it.
- Trying to cure a blogging addiction with a raw cookie dough addiction is bad for you and your waistline.
No more.
(Monday)
Blogger Becky: Okay, it's Monday. We didn't post all weekend and our comments on other blogs have been few and far between. Let's get to work!
Real-life Becky: You know, it's not mandatory to post every day. It's not like people sit in front of their computers for two days waiting for us to post something. We're cool, but not that cool.
BB: Do it. Do it now! And while you're at it, jazz up the comments. Make them unique and insightful and witty. None of this oh-you're-so-funny and I-totally-agree crap we've been throwing around lately.
RLB: Okay, I'll try with the comments, but we're doing a re-post today, you domineering control freak!
BB: (laughs evilly)
(Tuesday)
BB: C'mon, c'mon! If we don't post early, we don't get as many comments!
RLB: Look, this is getting kind of old. You know that blogging is supposed to be fun, right? And that if our post is gonna blow chunks anyway, it's probably better to forgo the whole thing for a day? You know that, right?
BB: Who cares if it's not the best thing we've ever written? Throw Jason Bourne in, and everyone will be salivating. Especially that Kristina chick...
RLB: Oooh, Jason. Me likey. Oh, alright, you win again.
(Wednesday)
BB: No time for kissing the husband good morning, you slacker! Move, move, move!!
RLB: What!? Oh, you crossed the line, lady. No more blogging for a week. A year! Go to your room!
BB: But...I...we need to...that's...
RLB: Silence, fiend! It's December and we are busy. We have a husband and kids to take care of. Our home is in disgrace. Life is hectic, and blogging is going to have to take a back seat for a while. Now tell them.
BB: (crosses arms and glares)
RLB: Teeeeell them. Or the ethernet cord gets the ax!
BB: Okay, okay! Um, guys? Our posting is probably going to be a little erratic this month. And we may not be commenting as often as we (or you) would like. Rest assured, we're still here and happy. It's just that we need to take some of the pressure off. And for the record, I'm not a domineering control freak. I just like to be thorough.
RLB: Ah, sweet victory...

Bwahaha!
Not the ethernet cord!!!
Didn't you tell RLB that you do not negotiate with terrorists?
Kidding! I totally understand. I really hope to do the same thing. Enjoy your family and come around when you can!
You know, I love that you people do that -- the taking a break from or easing up on the blogging. It's a very good idea. For some reason when I posted every day in November I felt less inclined to sit in front of the computer in the evenings (when you American's are all blogging like mad) and ended up spending more time with the fam. and still kept up on everyone's blogs. Not sure how that happened, but I loved it and I'm glad you've decided to kind of try to cut back a little.
But also, don't you realize that we need you? Hello!?!
You seriously crack me up. Well, at least you're still shaving your armpits. That's the important thing.
I have make believe conversations with myself all the time about blogging, but I was always afraid to admit it for fear of being labeled a schizophrenic myself. I have enough alter egos, and I really don't need another one!
WOW! I thought I was the only schizophrenic! Thanks for making me feel like I am not alone :)
Oh, I adore you.
It was so nice to not have posted anything over the Thanksgiving weekend. Well, I posted something on Thanksgiving, but didn't allow comments, and sometimes, you just have to take a break.
But, just to let you know, I do notice when you are gone. Not to tell you to be more active, but because I adore you and your blog.
An epic battle we are all (except maybe Lisaway) fighting.
Too funny.
Enjoy your break! We'll still be here when you decide to post. :)
We've been having the same inner conversation around here all week... I think my Real Life Self needs to get a spine because my Blogger self just put her breakfast dishes down on the computer desk to type this comment... Real Life Self should kick my Blogging Butt for those infraction of the rules that are obviously just for my kids!
Don't worry - we'll find something to keep us busy... like maybe I should pull out the Christmas lights?
I totally want people to bring me donuts too but not even for a reason. Just because. Does that make me narcissistic?
Such a funny post! You are so clever, my Alaskan friend!
I finally had to cave on any notion of posting every day. It's ended up being twice a week, or 3 times if I'm lucky.
I love that picture of you, but it looks like you might be half naked. Good thing it was from the shoulders up! ;)
Um---I disagree. I totally sit in front of my computer waiting for you to comment. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!
Oh...I mean. You're so funny. I totally agree with you! :)
I write several posts at once on a day when I have time, then I schedule them to post one a day in the early morning (like 6am, since that's 10am eastern!)
There are days I don't get on the computer at all, but my blog posts away! I love it.
And, of course, there are days I write 8 posts. *blush*
Okay, that picture is just freaky.
LOL! I LOVE that picture. Hehe....you know I send Trish your blog posts sometimes. I was going to send her this one too because I belly laughed throughout, but I already have 5 envelopes ready to go for her and I try to space them out so as not to inundate her, and I already have lots of material sitting around for more envelopes. I just sent her a couple of yours. She loves them! :)
And ya, I do that to sometimes too with scheduling posts and just writing less frequently.
You said that so well! I am ignoring my children (who are watching some pirate Veggie Tales movie from Netflix) to read and comment on other people's blogs. Don't get me wrong, I love to read them. AND it takes so much time. Especially when my kitchen is a disaster area. Where are the priorities???
Hehe. I force myself away sometimes too, its just such a big world online.. so easy to get sucked into it... Ever tried the games on facebook? I tend to go egg hunting for quite some time on there lol.
And i always say good gravy.. ask my husband lol. I try not to swear with the kids... and i can have a pretty foul mouth at times. But we have some funny replacements, like tarter sause ( from spongebob the evilness of it all) and shitake mushrooms. For the S word... Its funnier then that.
And thank you.
Glad you are back. I have not really had much time the last week to read, but I would normally miss you like crazy!
Yay Becky! You stepped up to the plate and hit a home run! Woo hoo!
I think I just invented an award for Best Post Ever.
You just won it, hands down.
That was awesome! You hit the nail right on the head. That was seriously the best post I have ever read. And, your husband is absolutely adorable with his cute post :) Love it!
You go girl! You rule the blog, not the other way around!
This addiction is no small thing.
And you wrote about it hilariously of course!
Is hilariously a word?
Wait. Don't answer that...really.
I found that a blogcation made me NOT less addicted, but more focused on the whens and hows of things. If that makes any sense at all...
Good luck! I am right there with ya!
I wait for a post every day! LOL. One day I'll get a real life. ha ha!
You are hilarious!
I'd better see BB back on my blog soon! (just kidding, I know RLB is way more important.)
