Lately I've been reading all sorts of posts about warm fuzzy bloggy get-togethers. And I'm thinkin', that's gotta stop. (Hey, if you can name that movie, I'll give you a big, enthusiastic "huzzah!" from the confines of my computer desk. Um... yeah, that's it. What were you expecting, five bucks or something? Sheesh. I'm not made of money, people.)
I'm sorry. What was I doing? What day is it? Who am I?
Oh, yeah. What's up with all the meet and greets and whatnot? Do you not understand that every post is like a dagger to my fragile little heart?! I wanna try on The Snuggie (after it gets washed, of course) and sit in Sue's living room and eat Krispy Kremes and have bottomless chips and salsa. Curses! Curses on you all for living so far away!
(We interrupt this post for a small moment of reflection.)
Okay, okay, no curses. I'm wildly jealous, though. Someday I'll visit my sister in Utah again and get to meet some of you wonderful ladies. That'll be a good day. (I won't bring my sister with me, though, because she's cuter than I am. And more charismatic. You'd probably like her better, and I wouldn't blame you. I'm only cool on paper. But don't worry, I've come to terms with it.) Anyway, someday...
In completely unrelated news, it hit 67 degrees here today. Maybe higher. It's been a long time since I've seen 67 degrees; I didn't want to come inside. And it's supposed to be like this for another three days. In Alaska weather time, that's like eight years! Good gravy, it was beautiful. I guess really far north is still a great place to be.

It's like 67 in Utah. And I WANT TO MEET YOU. Come and visit Utah!!
Well, hopefully I'll be your nearly neighbor in a month or so, and we can have little parties every month, ok?
Unless we get a job in Fairbanks...there is one that Hubby is very intrigued by...it all just depends on who offers what. But 3/4 of what we're lookign at is in Mat-Su, so the odds are in your favor I think. :)
I know! The partying! It's been crazy! But I've loved reading about it. I guess I'm so used to being away from it all that I'm okay with it. Sort of.
Don't worry, I have never been to a meet and greet either. Since most of the blogs I follow are written by Utah peeps, I doesn't matter that I don't live in Alaska any more because I don't live in Utah either. Oh well. I guess I will have to buy myself some donuts and consume them by my computer while reading blogs. Such is the life ;)
it was 67 at 10:00 last night in my part of Utah! you just let us know when you're coming and I'll be happy to supply the bottomless chips!
You need a party of your own before then though - I KNOW there are other Alaska bloggists! (look at me, blatantly stealing Heidi's term)
I'm sorry you live far far away and couldn't come. I want to meet you, too:)
You come visit me anytime my friend. 67 rocks my world. I love the warmer weather, it makes my life just soooo much better :)
Hey, even Huntington Beach was colder than that yesterday.
I think I won't trade you, though. And the next time I whine about every OTHER bloggy get-together than I miss, I'll just think about Alaska and shut up.
The sad thing is I only live a few hours away from all the partying and I STILL can never make it.
It's finally warm here, too. It's taken long enough!
The blog get togethers can be depressing if you don't get to do them... I'm sorry!
I got sulky one day a couple years ago and tried to find more local bloggers. I found some but...umm...they didn't quite compare to my more distant but more lovely friends. Distance makes the heart grow fonder?
Sorry for my part in the dagger stabbing!
Never been to a bloggy get together either. But, somehow it doesn't bother me. Hang in there and enjoy those beautiful days!
I guess it would be hard to find some local mmbloggers and go out to lunch there in Wasilla.
But hey, you have Sarah Palin, maybe she's available to do lunch sometime! (come to think of it, I might be willing to fly in for that!)
Was the quote from The Emperor's New Groove?
I have never been to a blog get-together either! And I know bloggers that live right in town and in Utah and yet, I HAVE NEVER BEEN INVITED ANYWHERE! At least they have a nice reason for not inviting you...you live to far away. I just don't get invited because the world hates me. So don't pout, OK? :)
Hooray for warm(er-ish) weather!
I totally don't blame you for being jealous because it was freakin' awesome! It would have been better had you been there, though.
I've been jealous too. The thing that is frustrating for me is the fact that I live only 3 hours away. My dilemma was - do I drive six hours total for a 2 hour dinner? I was very, very tempted but I had too much going on this week.
And yay for good weather!!
I'm not north - I'm south and east. But I'm still jealous of them:)
I might as well be as far north as you for all the meet & greets that I get to miss out on, too! But n. Idaho, is what, 2/3 of the way from Utah for you? Hmmm wonder what we could work out. . . ? And (I'm with JustRandi - and I have always meant to ask - have you ever spotted her at her fav diner?)
:~D
