- If someone upsets you or something disconcerting happens to you, and you keep bringing it up just so you can tell people you're over it, you're not over it.
- If you're not great at exercising regularly, don't decide, out of the blue, to go on a three-mile bike ride lugging two kids behind you in a bike trailer.
- If your husband has repeatedly requested that you not trim your daughter's bangs, don't expect him to be thrilled when you do it while he's out of town for the weekend.
- If you have writer's block, don't be surprised if you can only come up with four things you know.

Wow-I'm kinda curious about your husband's strong opinion on your daughter's bangs. :)
Nice work on the 3 mile bike ride!
Hey, I didn't know all these things. Thanks for sharing. Now I do!
I love when I expect a certain reaction from Greg and am so disappointed that he didn't do or say JUST what I was thinking he would/should.
#1 is SO true. There are a couple of issues I had that problem with.
I think we're supposed to get into the 60s here today. I am SO ready to be warm.
My husband has strong ideas about the girls' hair, too. Kind of weird.
Happy Spring!
What's the deal with the bangs?
all good things to know - my hubby had to get over the girls' hair thing when my sweet darlings decided to play "The Parent Trap" and chop their own hair... (as featured last week on Babes in Hairland) - any haircut they get now is SO much better that there are no complaints!
Aww, it's still full-coat weather here. :( I'm SO ready for spring.
As for the bangs, actually, I'm on your hubby's side of that one...I know there's that awkward stage where they are always in her face, but the longer her hair gets, the harder it is to grow out the bangs...plus it's really hard to get nice even bangs on a kid... After doing a couple of kids with and a couple without, my mom decided bangs were too much trouble and upkeep, and you know how I think my mom is brilliant, LOL! I figure if a girl wants bangs she can choose them easily enough, but if she doesn't like them it's hard to grow them out. *shrug*
Yeah, that # 1 is a killer for sure. I hate when I do that.
I hate even more when my husband does that.
Ha! Loved the first one!!! And just because you only thought of 4 things doesn't mean you have writers block -- you are just being humble ;)
What a hoot. These are all important things to know -- and to remind ourselves often. I feel the bangs issue -- I'm fighting it right now, as a matter of fact, but not for my daughter, for myself! I wish someone would just accidentally come along with a pair of shears and reach out and slice mine off, 'cause I'm in that sick-of-growing-them-out stage. But I love the bike ride warning as well, esp. since now that spring has sprung, I know I'm going to be tempted to do the same thing!
I can totally relate to number one!
I think you are a brave soul of very hardy stock to live there. Do the long days of summer compensate at all or do you just get grouchy b/c it's hard to sleep in the glaring light?
I don't know if I could come up with four things. Hmm... Enjoy the spring!
Love the list of things you know! I'm totally with on on #1 and #2 (although I would never go on a 3 mile bike ride. My bike is collecting dust in the garage. Meaning, I have never ridden it.)
Hey, so I didn't know that about #1. It's amazing what I learn.
Way to be optimistic! Don that jacket and enjoy spring. :)
LOL Too funny. So, are you planning another bike ride any time soon?

#2 Did this last year minus the kids but for 8 miles, had to get my sister to pick me up in her car- shaky legs syndrome.
#3 Still have some awful photos of my boys with their pudding bowls.
It's spring here in Ireland and there is rain lashing my window with winter ferocity.
I remember Oprah asking that question, "What do you know for sure". I am glad that there is some conviction in the world...even if it is just about bangs, bike riding, and quirky weather.
That is exactly the way I exercise. No wonder I stink at it.
I think I have learned those things as well. I tend to jump into exercise with a vengeance, and then it jumps back on me with even more vengeance. Can it do that? You bet it can ;) And, I agree that if you keep bringing stuff up, you are completely not over it. Sad truth.
I can't say as I miss break up in Fairbanks, but I did love the feeling of being able to take a long walk sans 30 layers of clothes. It's the best. Plus, it starts to get lighter and helps you forget the four months of dark you just endured.
